New for 2016
Enhanced USB and Bluetooth are now standard on the 2016 BMW M5 and a new exterior color, Tanzanite Blue Metallic, has been added.

Overview
A 560-hp 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 with 500 lb-ft of torque is the only engine available in the 2016 M5 and it can be mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. Fuel economy isn’t impressive at 15/22 mpg city/highway with the manual and 14/20 mpg with the automatic. Trunk space is class-competitive at 14 cubic feet and can be expanded via the standard split-folding rear seats.

Safety
Standard safety features include dual front, front-side, and side curtain airbags. The Driver Assistance Plus package adds blind spot warning, side and top view cameras, and the Active Driving Assistant, which bundles together lane departure warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and forward emergency braking.
